This modern political cartoon demonstrates modern day U.S. imperialism. In this case it is not for an increase in territory, though it is for gaining natural resources. The picture illustrates the different ways in which the U.S. government attempted to justify going into Iraq, however the underlieing issue was always for the oil. All in all, this cartoon is a perfect depiction of modern day imperialism.
